The Korsman Bird Sanctuary is considered one of the best Bird Sanctuaries, particularly in an urban area, in South Africa.Flamingoes can often be seen using Korsman as a stopover during their annual migration

The fauna in the area has not been categorised but Grass Owls, Black Egret, Marsh Owls and many other species have been seen in the conservancy area.Rare birds that visited the area:* White Pelican* Black Egret* Yellowbilled Stork.* Orangethroated Longclaw* Pygmy Goose* Blackshouldered Kite.* Gymnogene (Polyboroides typus)
